Possible Motherboard Problem?

Does anyone know if there are issues with Windows 7 and the MSI P35 Platinum motherboard.

When I played games (Crysis, Street Fighter IV, Bioshock) they worked sometimes but would randomly freeze and display colored boxes while glitching out. After restarting my computer I would get colored boxes for my first couple bootups, then around the third bootup everything would go back to normal.

I thought it was originally my old PSU, so I got a new one. Didn't help.
Then I thought it was my RAM. Tested it, found one bad stick. Took it out. Retested at 100 percent working with the 3GB left. Didn't help.

Sent in my Video Card and got a new one. Put a really good cooler on it. Worked fine for a while, but now the same flashing stuff is happening again.

Is my MOBO destroying my hardware?

It's entirely possible. You have ruled out the other most likely culprits...maybe with the exception of a CPU which might be overheating and causing problems.

Ooops, forgot to put I ruled out the CPU as well. I performed a stress test on it for a day and it came up fine. Should I be worried about my MOBO permanently damaging my Video Card and RAM?

I once had an issue with a Mobo (specifically the chipset on the Mobo) that wouldn't allow me to play Battlefield 2 for longer than 5-15 minutes without blue screening, locking up, etc.

I swapped the video card to a newer one, the issue persisted. Wiping and reinstalling Windows didn't correct it. The only thing that resolved my issue was buying a new Mobo with a different Chipset. Never had the issue again.

So...it could very well be Mobo related.

Also, do you have the latest BIOS? I had some sleep-wake problems when overclocking that went away with a beta of my BIOS.

Yup, used MSI LiveUpdate to get them and they flashed no problem. It's time for me to get a new Mobo anyway. Any suggestions? Are there Mobos that support i7 processors but are still compatible with C2Qs?

Nope, it's either-or. The sockets are completely different, not to mention the chipsets. Get a Core i7 920 and severely OC it . Asus has some great OC-friendly mobos.
