Only 3.86GB of 2TB HDD can be seen on Disk Management.

Hi,

I would like to ask if i can still see the content of this HDD of mine. It is a 2TB i used for my backups.
When i open Disk Management it will let me choose if MBR or GPT, if i choose either of the two, it will see Cyclic redundancy Check.

And it shows only 3.86 GB, it cannot also be initialized.

Most important missing information: is there data on this disk you need to save?

If the answer is no, then you can wipe the drive. A quick wipe ( Diskpart > Clean) should be all you need. This just deletes the old partition table and should eliminate the Cyclic error.

@ShoTTas, you haven't given any details of your hard drive. Seagate/Western Digital, Internal/external, model number etc.,

Was the drive dropped by any chance?

Run PW and see the status of the drive.Does your drive show as Read Only and Bad Disk as in the above thread?

Next run manufacturer's diagnostic utility. Most probably the drive has quit irrecoverable with bad sectors.

Anyway carryout the above checks to confirm.

Ill try diskpart. and try to wipe the disk.

sir WHS,

i cant see the HDD on computer, also all option on disk management is grayed out when i right click the disk.

I know it is the same problem. That is why I referred you to that thread.

Did you drop the drive? No answer.

Did you run Partition Wizard? How does it show in PW? Did it show the drive as Read only and Bad Disk? You did not answer. Post a screenshot. Just saying you ran PW does not help.

Details of the drive asked? You never furnished.

Did you run manufacturer's disk Diagnostics? No answer

If your disk has gone bad as the OP found out in that thread even a live Linux can't do anything.

So first go ahead and test your drive with Manufacturer's Diagnostic utility.

Here are the needed info sir,

The Drive hasn't been dropped. - It was plugged to the server when it dies.

Attached is the Screen Shot of PW and the Manufacturers Diagnostic Utility.

HDD is a Seagate 2TB , External HDD, Model #: SRD0SD0
