Hard drive doesn't seem to Detele??

    Hard drive doesn't seem to Detele??


    Thanks for your help in advance

    I just reinstalled Windows to a new 1TB Hard Drive about a 2 weeks ago. I noticed that my Hard drive space is now now the 262gb left, I do Video edited be I delete alot, I checked all folders on Hard drive and nothing seems to be hiding these files,
    I ran ccleaner, scan for Virus's everything, now i'm just lost... I My Hard drive is a

    Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64


    not sure what could be going on, maybe a setting i've missed

    Run this program ( WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics ). It will tell you exactly what`s on your HDD. Depending on how you did the reinstall, you might also have a windows.old folder which is huge and should be deleted. Additionally, with such a big drive, you also have a very large shadowstorage (up to 15% of your C drive). You can check that if you go into elevated Command Prompt and type vssadmin list shadowstorage

    Thanks for that program, There are a few files in another temp folder that are HUGE
    Mnc1498.tmp
    mnc59E.tmp

    Are these Virus's. I ran a check but it came back nothing...
    sorry on the short info, but this was a clean install

    looks like temp files from some video editing... the program you use may just not have deleted them for some reason.

    Check the path to those files and then check you editing software to see where it stores its temp files.

    if they match, you now know where the files coming from.

    Suggest you open the folders and see what´s in it. If you don`t need that any more, just delete it.
