Did you try Safe Mode? If you can "see" the DVD in Safe mode, then its a corrupted driver issue, and a simple driver download will fix it.
Didn't see it asked. Is it detected during POST and in the BIOS
I FOUND THE SOLUTION, GUYS!!!
I checked out other sites, and I saw one, these were the steps that I had to do:
- Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right click Command Prompt > Run as administrator.
- Paste the following line into the Command Prompt window and hit Enter
bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS- Restart the computer.
After I restarted, I checked on Computer... and VIOLA! My DVD drive is back!
i'm not sure of it's compatibility. but i did use the older version of MagicISO (the one that was for Vista), which may have caused the issue.
it's always better to be safe then sorry. so i'll probably not use MagicISO for awhile. (that's just me)
I've got MagicIso installed - no problem here.
The separate virtual drive I don't use.
It seems to interfere with my other virtual drives.
