    Aiptek apc 400 HyperVcam Driver


    Cant find a driver for an old Aiptek model apc400 usb camera for win7 home premium 64 bit. If not can I use a driver for windows xp? Thanks

    Connect the camera to the computer.
    Open device manager go to Camera missing driver, right click and try to install a driver from WU.
    If it doesn t find one, right click - properties - Details tab - Hardware ID's
    Copy the ID (it's like USB\VID_03F0&PID_A707&REV_0030&MI_00) and search the web.

    Drivers from XP may work.

    Expanding on what Megahertz07 said in post #2:

    The hardware ID should have a VEN number and a DEV number. For example, it will be something like this:

    VEN_03F0&DEV_A707

    In this example, the VEN number is 03F0, and the DEV number is A707.

    Now go to the following website...

    http://pcidatabase.com/

    ... and do a Device Search (a search on your DEV number). It will return several listings, at least one of which will have a vendor ID which matches your VEN number. Explore these listings (those which have a match on both the VEN and DEV numbers), and you'll find out where you can obtain the drivers for your device.
