Error installing dual boot windows 8 with windows 7
So, yesterday i tried to install windows 8 in dual boot with my existing windows 7.. Unfortunately the installation somehow failed.. Here is the detail..
I tried to install windows 8 in my laptop, HP envy 4..
First of all, here is my disk management screenshot before i installed the windows 8..
Notice that i wanted to install it in W drive..
Fist question, can i install windows 8 in W drive? Notice that W drive is an extended partion from logical c, which my Windows 7 loacated in..
If yes, than move to the next question ..
If no, how can i make my hard drive partition so it can make another primary partition? I don't want to delete recovery and HP tools partition, since it can help me in the worst scenario.. However, is there a way to delete system partition and make the C as active?
Second question..
So i start windows 8 installation by extracting the windows 8 iso file, and run the setup in the sources folder.. I chose the W drive, and installation started..
However, when it reached the second step (i think it's the preparing file or something, in 60% i guessed), it said that it will restart in 10 seconds and counting.. So i let it restart.. Then my laptop boot into windows 8 loading screen.. The circle keep spinning, until the windows 8 BSOD screen showed up.. Then, my laptop automatically restart and keep looping to the BSOD..
Where did i go wrong exactly?
Thx before.. Cheers..
