Whats needed to switch to 64bit?

So I just found out that my Core 2 Duo supports 64bit, and Ive done the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor thing, and aperantly I pass.
But from personal experiences, what are the minimum requirements to run a 64bit version of windows 7????

win 7 64bit loves memory. the more you throw at it the better it likes it. MS says minimum 2gigs ram. I would say 4 minimum, 8 if you can afford it.

Hd 64 bit needs a bit more so abt 30 gigs for the OS partition

Video 512mb or more if you can to run aero and games.

Well then, I guesss I wont install 64bit then, being that this is a laptop with only 2gb ram =(

Windows 64-bit will run fine in less than 2GB of RAM. But it does take some tweaking.

However there are not many benefits to running it in less than 4GB of RAM. In fact the disadvantages would likely outweigh the advantages...so, yeah I am going to say stick with 32-bit.

Yeah, well I got both version for free (the party thing). And i dont think I can upgrade the RAM on my laptop, im pretty sure 2 gig is the max, otherwise id go for the 4gig at least.

Have you searched the specs on your laptop motherboard to see what maximum memory it can have ? Make & Model ?

HP DV2550se, and aperantly it supports 4gig of ram, yet there is no way to upgrade the video chip..
