jeagers I would highly recommend NOT jumping from website to website.
    You will only get confused.
If you are having a problem just post back and greg will be able to help you. If you start do thing from various sites no one will not be able to follow and help you; and I mean no one.

Which Diagnostics are you running? Most of them will repair a HD if at all possible. If not the most you can do is run the Wipe function which most of them also have. Then try using the Win7 installer to partition and format with the Drive Options in Step 7 of Clean Install Windows 7.

If that fails try every step in Post 6 again to see if it will format an Active partition. If not I think the HD is bad. You can confirm it with Partition Wizard surface test which you can also use to try to Create Partition - Partition Wizard Video Help

Then you'll know you've done everything possible and it's time to replace the HD.

im running the drive fitness test. I tried the option to just repair the bad sectors and received and message when it tried to just repair those now im going to try and run the test again and have it just erase the whole disk and rewrite the whole thing hopefully this works as I don't want to have to replace the hd.
