Win 7 / XP Dual Boot issue

    Hi GUys

hope someone can help me here i seem to be going in circles.

i have a machine that was running xp - no probs......decided to install Win 7 in a seperate partition on the same drive, so installed Win 7 from a USB stick.here are my issues

if i have the USB stick plugged in on reboot, it brings up the dual boot menu - the win 7 option works, the second option (titled new os i think ) fails to do anything

if no USB stick plugged in it boots to XP with no option to start 7

i can see that it has installed the bootmgr on the usb stick which is why the dual option mode comes up when thats plugged in .....so

    1. how do i move the bootloader to the new (win7 ) C drive
    3. How to i modify the settings of the bootloader so that it sees the xp partition and loads the system (this is E drive when booted into Win 7)

thanks for any advice in advance

Plug in the stick so that Win7 will boot, post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image showing all drives and their listings.

I've not heard of Win7 installing it's System boot files on it's flash stick installer, which has its own boot sector to boot itself.

Normally to repair Win7 boot so it boots itself it requires Marking Win7 Partition Active to run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times. Once Win7 starts and holds the System flag on its partition, you can install EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required) to add XP to the Dual Boot.

But it's best for us to see the disk picture first to be sure of its present congfiguration.
