How did you try to boot the flash stick installer? With preinstalled Windows 8 if you cannot access a bootable device using the F12 key or the Lenovo OneKey (small button next to power button) the stick must be booted as a UEFI device from within WIndows 8 following USB Drive - Boot from within Windows 8. If the flash stick will not boot then you know it is incorrectly formatted so try again or try another.

If this fails then I would reset BIOS defaults to Win7, save and exit, boot the Win7 flash stick from F12 or OneKey menu, delete all partitions to do a Clean Install Windows 7 then after you have Win7 set up and running as you like, shrink and create a New partition to Clean Install - Windows 8. If you need media it can be found via Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 ISO - Download or Create.

Personally I'd want Windows 10 preview in a Dual Boot with Win7, which I've done several times now even though I never go back to Windows 7.

In the end, I managed to select the USB as a UEFI device and boot into it but it says: "windows failed to start". I've tried Load Default Settings for both Win864bit and Win7OS in the bios, but windows will always fail to start in the USB installer. It will always say, "Status: 0xc0000359 Info: The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required files is missing or contains errors." I know very well that there is nothing wrong with my USB.

Is there any documented case of anyone being able to start Windows 7 in UEFI mode on a G50?
