    Question on Windows 7 disc

I am running a dell desk top, which was originally windows 7, I ended up doing the upgrade to windows 10.

    My question would be this..

I have all the installation disc for my Dell windows 7. Is it possible to use the installation disc on a Dell Laptop running Vista that I have..

Or am I asking for problems.. I have been wondering about this for awhile, rather than get another laptop..

    Thanks

    Ron..

Will it work? Maybe, or maybe not. See here for more info.

Is it legal? No. It is a violation of the EULA to use an OEM version of Windows unless the machine has a COA sticker for that version and edition.

That does not make sense. What about the free upgrades from Win7 to Win10 ?

That's not an OEM version. I'm only talking about the versions installed by the major OEM computer manufacturers.

Without a key it`s a waste of time, and if you had a key then why use a Dell oem disc when you could download the iso and do a clean install.

The Dell oem disc would work fine, but what`s the point, without a W7 key you can`t activate it.
