Attempt to Remove Win 7 Home, Clean Install Win 7 Pro Failed...Badly
Hi,
This is a homebuild desktop from 2012, and it has two hdds - one 80 and the other 1TB. The person who built it, placed Win Home Premium on the smaller hdd, and I wanted to remove it, and replace it with WIN 7 Pro, partitioning the larger hdd (I hope I'm making sense).
Anyway, I got to diskpart using the install disk of Win 7 Pro to clean the smaller hdd, but when it finished and I went back to the install disk, it asked where I wanted the Pro install. I clicked the larger drive, and it told me to restart.
When I rebooted the computer it took me to "Insert proper boot disk or boot media," and it's been there ever since. I can't get into the computer at all. I tried the old restore disk, but it doesn't nothing. From "ESC" to "F12" it just doesn't respond, - not even diagnostics - but goes straight to the boot request. I've tried WinRepair (free version), BCD, UBCD and EASE - via disk and USB, and it won't go anywhere. I've tried all the disks I possess pertaining to this desktop that could possibly get me back to a prompt, but to no avail.
This desktop is older, but it's fast and I'd really like to keep it. Is there any way to bypass all of this format and get the clean install started?
Thanks,
Maia
