Hi, I am new here and I have a problem during the windows 7 installation on my desktop. I boot win 7 from a USB drive and everything goes well till computer restarts and about at this point:

after about a minute or so, my screen goes black and it has blinking underscore in the top left corner. If I try to restart my computer then it just freezes at starting windows logo.
Tried to reset BIOS of the motherboard, load default settings, update BIOS, download different windows and some other things but unfortunetaly nothing helped me.

    My pc specs:
    Motherboard: Asus M4A87TD/USB3
CPU: Amd II X4 955 black edition
    RAM: 6Gb
    HDD: Seagate 1TB
    Video card: Gtx 260

    Sorry for bad English.

    Hi,
Not sure why would be the problem it's not a really new desktop that I've noticed
You should have legacy options in bios
I do know rufus will show a uefi option to boot to I never use that one and just boot to the main flash drive listing and use it
Are you sure your bios is not set to eufi mode ?

I checked now and I couldn't find legacy options in BIOS.

    Do a Check disk
Boot from the Win 7 installation disk, go to Repair launch the CMD window and type
    chkdsk c: / f
It will check the disk and can take some time.
ONCE it begins, don't interrupt. When it finish you'll be able to read the results.
If it finds bad blocks or bad clusters, it can explain what is happening to your installation.

The check disk didn't find any disk problems.
It seems that you have a old PATA disk connected to a PCI controller and it didn't find a disk. Can you explain how many disks you have?
