Yes, that is correct, win7 doesn't support secure boot and it must be turned off.
Also, I want to ask a question that (kinda) not related with this topic :

I've been few days in win7 and it's stable. Today I decided to update it into the latest one, around 100-200 important patches. After restart, windows not stable, i mean, i open program and it doesn't show up, even start menu freeze. Ultimately I'm using safe mode to rolled back into before update and it's stable again. I tried to update again, and it's unstable again, so (once again) I roll back into before update. I guess there's some fked up update there by microsoft that causing the windows freezed I guess?

A lot of people use simplix, doesn't seem to cause any problems.

    Hi @SIW2,

Does it include kb971033, the WAT update, if so can i just extract it. looks like MS have pulled it, and i want to include it in the pinned Genuine tutorial.

I appear to be having a strange issue, and I'm not sure if it even worked at all. The 7Updater60 (I tried the 57 as well) seems to close instantly the moment I point it to the extracted ISO on the USB stick I'm using. Opening cmd as admin and opening the file itself brings up the error message with something among the lines of ""Can't open E:\sources\boot.wim" read-only: Invalid argument. Exiting with error code 47: failed to open a file. x86_64 was unexpected at the time"

I'm quite certain none of the files are read-only, they're freshly extracted.

I tested this on two Windows 7 computers with the same results. Am I missing a critical step? What's going on?

My suggestion is to not integrate the updates to the installation files as it will make it huge. Another reason is that it is updated regularly.
Run Simplix after win 7 installation and with no yellow remarks on device manager (all drivers installed).

I dont know what you are doing wrong.

Unless you need the drivers (usb3, storage and nvme) in the installation media, you could just run simnplix after you have installed win7.

I had the same issue, eventually after trying a few times to update the USB stick directly I extracted the ISO to a hard drive directory, ran the updater then copied the modified folders across to the USB stick.
