Reverting to Original Win7 over Updated version
Hello people,
I've been using Win7 on an older Dell Optiplex desktop for several years now. For a long time, this computer was not connected to the internet because I used it for audio production only.
I reconnected to the internet a year ago, and the system began "updating" itself, and my computer has been getting slower and slower with app crashes and the Blue Screen of Death (i thought that ended with Win XP! LOL!) happening more frequently. I'm also getting odd "access denied" messages to folders like "documents and settings" which should never happen.
Before the "updates", everything was running fast and smooth, so I want to basically revert to my my old "original" DVD version of Win7, and disconnect from the internet again, because I really don't need to be online with this older machine.
Wondering what the best way is to revert? Meaning a "clean install". Do I have to actually wipe my disk and reformat it, or can I just insert the DVD and it will give me an option? I really don't want to have to install all my software again.
Thanks for any perspectives on this!
