USB3 Drivers For ASUS PRO H510M-CT/CSM
I am trying to install the USB3_WIN7_2021 drivers onto my ASUS PRO H510M-CT/CSM MB with a 10th gen I3 cpu with no success.
Windows 7x64 installed using a DVD and ps2 mouse/keyboard. But, as expected, there is no USB. Using the Device Manager to point to the drivers ( as in the past for the ASUS H410 MB, et. al.), I get the message "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it".
I have never gotten this message in the past for the previous ASUS H110/310/410 boards.
I installed KB2864202 with no problem.
I then went on to run Simplex. When Simplex completed, the Device Manager showed the USB Host installed but not the Hub and said the driver would not start.
I had gotten past the ASUS gaffe of not allowing CSM to activate unless there was a graphics card present. That had never been a problem before.
The Intel 500 series chipset appears to be different than past chipsets.
Is there any help available?
EDIT: I found the problem. The XHCI handoff was enabled in the bios USB parameters as a default. I have never encountered this before. Upon disabling this and reinstalling WIN7x64, the USB_WIN7_2021 drivers were installed by the Disk Manager con gusto.
Sorry to have bothered everyone.
Joe.
