Failure to upgrade from Vista Home to 7 Home
Have attempted to upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium (32) to Windows Seven Home Premium (32) a total of 6 times without success due to the following error found in setuperr.log:
Plugin {e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974}: BthMig: Failed to migrate bthport keys, bailing out
Have tried a number of troubleshooting suggestions on a number of forums without success including:
1) Checked that I had the latest key drivers (audio, Chipset, BIOS, SATA driver, Video). NOTE: This is according to Vista; though DriverMax suggests more up-to-date drivers. To this point, I have went with the drivers that Vista states are the most up-to-date.
2) Removed all 3rd party CD/DVD burning software.
3) Ran memory diagnostics to screen for any memory errors.
4) Performed the upgrade in "Clean Boot" mode.
5) Turned off various Windows features:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0\XPS Viewer
- Remote Differential Compression
- Window DFS Replication Service
System Information:
Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-N250E/B
Processor: Intel T2250 @ 1.73GHz
Memory: 1GB
Current OS: Vista Home Premium (32) SP2
I really want to avoid the need for a clean install on this laptop and would appreciate any suggestions to further troubleshooting or better yet, a solution that will allow successful upgrade. I have all the necessary log files captured and can upload for further information upon request.
Thank You Very Much for anyone who can provide assistance!
