    Installation help

I am having p3.00 pc with 80gb harddisk and 1 gb ram. My OS is window xp pack3.It has 4 partions. On C OS is installed.Recently I clean installed Window 7 on partion D having 26gb Harddisk. One day I accidently formated the D partion and my Window 7 was gone. After that tried my best to install Window 7 again both from CD as well as from HDD(I have kept one dump of window 7 on another partion) but failed.Installation does not start from DVD at all. However same dvd works via window xp and installation do starts. All the files are loaded and also expanding of files is completed. Now there is a massage WINDOW 7 STARTING but it never restarts. Istead there is starting page (I do not know actual name) having two options 1. old windows 2.window 7 setup. And this goes on and Window 7 setup never resart and i am unable to complete Window 7 installation. Can anobody help me.

Are you formatting Win7 partition with XP? If so, delete the formatting and let Win7 DVD autoformat during Copying Files phase. XP has a slightly different partition table.

I do not understand why your Win7 DVD will not boot. Did it boot before? What happens when you try to boot it? Are you following these steps: Boot from CD - How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD - Boot to CD

Try installing using a USB flash drive: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create
