Froze during installation, now stuck at cmd prompt

I'm attempting a clean install from Windows XP to Windows 7. The setup froze at 27% into the "Expanding Windows Files" step and I had to restart. It went through a screen where it said something went wrong during the setup and it's undoing everything, then it restarted again. Now all it brings up is a cmd prompt with this:

I'm not sure what to do from here. Any help?

Are you formatting your drive before attempting the installation? Make sure that you disconnect everything that is not absolutely necessary...extra drives, monitors, etc... Be sure to download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to ensure that you can use Windows 7....

Windows XP Home Edition

hello Tews

I am selecting Custom Install and not Upgrade if that's what you mean. Or am I supposed to go through some format before I even get to that point?

I unplugged all unnecessary hardware and still had the same issue. I ended up reinstalling Windows XP just so I could use the computer this morning. I read elsewhere that I should burn the dvd with as slow of a write speed as possible, so I re-burned it and ran the Windows 7 Advisor before trying again. Everything was fine according to that, but I still wound up with the exact same issue again.

I'm pretty sure it's not the iso, which I've seen installed on other computers without an issue.

Any advice?

Verify the DVD against the ISO using Imgburn. If neccessary burn a new DVD at 4x speed with Verify using ImgBurn which never fails.

Test your memory using WMD test or memtest86 CD. Remove all but one stick of RAM.

Test your HD using maker's diagnostics full scan burned to CD: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Try SATA controller set to AHCI first, then IDE.
