Step 7 click Drive Options (advanced) to get the partitioning options.

    Clean Install Windows 7

Partition the Hard Drive in a Windows 7 Install

If you want to be sure of avoiding the extra 100mb partition - mark the partition you are going to install on Active - use Diskpart or any 3rd party partitioner for that.

In the future use free Partition Wizard bootable CD as it has never failed in hundreds of resizing operations we have helped with here.

SIW2 is the top install expert of many in these forums, so follow his advice given above to repartition and reinstall.

Just had this problem, but i thought of something. I was making a bootable Flash Drive and was using CMD, so i thought that i could use the same commands. I knew that i had 2 partitions, but when i installed my OS i could only see 1 Partition and the other one was hiding somewhere. I got it back, working.
    What i did was:
    1. Open CMD
    2. Write "diskpart" and press enter
    3. In Diskpart window write "list disk"
    4. my hhd was listed as 0, so i wrote "select disk 0"
    5. my 2nd partition was the one missing, so i wrote "select partition 2"
    6. write "assign" and the missing partition opens up :) I got back my lost files :)

    I hope this helps someone.
