Windows 7: email addresses not memorized any longer

email addresses not memorized any longer

Iíve had a new Dell since August 2010 with Outlook 2010. Within the last week, a problem began when typing an email address into the To box of a new email. Until last week, I could type the first letter of a name or email address and all email addresses Iíve used in the past beginning with that letter would appear. I would arrow down, select the email address I wanted and hit enter. Now, that function has mysteriously disappeared. Each day when I begin using Outlook and type my fist email, no addresses are ďmemorized.Ē As I type new emails, the addresses are memorized but only for that day. When the Dell is turned off, the next day all memorized addresses from the prior day are gone. Whatís up? Why has this just started? One of my business partners who bought a new Dell at the same time had the same problem develop at the same time. My other business partner, who also got the same Dell at the same time, has had this problem since day 1 Ė she was never able to get the memorized email addresses to work.

Can you help?

My first thought would be, have you had any Dell updates which might have contained something for Outlook?

It seems significant that they are all Dell machines. Did they come pre-loaded with Office 2010?

If it was not caused by a Dell download, my post #5 in this thread has some suggestions:
Autocomplete not working correct

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the results.

My father was born in the Bilston, Sedgely area (over a hundred years ago!) - the family left there when he was a toddler.

Great information Irene. I didn't know how to set AutoComplete (AutoSuggest -- AutoCache) for emails. Rep+ to you.
