    Lost AVCHD Files

I have W7 64bit running on my computer, and I have a zillion AVCHD files ..... well a lot .
My problem is, that I am used to double clicking on a file, and it should play. However, with these files, you double click, and the file disappears. It doesn't matter how I try to recover it (Esc, Undo, etc), it has gone.

Can anyone tell me WHERE it has gone, and can I recover it? Doing a search of the file name gives me a Not Found result.

    Thank you

This is indeed weird. The files just cannot disappear from your hard drive by double clicking.

While it is baffling, I would suggest that you try PhotoRec PhotoRec - CGSecurity and check whether it can find the files. ( I can assure you that it is absolutely safe since PhotoRec does not write anything to the hard disk on which you are trying to recover.)

Guide to using PhotoRec recovery software.

Did the files ever play? Or is this the first time using them? Did you create them yourself or get elsewhere?
