Granted this is an old thread, I was recently making some changes on my setup and ran into the same problem. To sum it up, I was trying to setup port forwarding to my Seven machine for webserver use. Upon doing this I setup the network settings for the 7 machine as a static ip and gateway. This gave me the same situation you have described. A great connection but it states "No internet connection" with the yellow triangle. I switched everything back over to be dynamically set by the dhcp (my router refuses to forward the ports irregardless of how i set it up) and everything went back to normal.

Don't know if that helps anyone, but if you have it static, you might try changing it back to dynamic. Seems to have resolved it here. Anyone have an explination?

I use Windows 7 RC at work. I connect to the internet over company LAN with static IP and manualy inserted DNS. My internet connection is OK, everything works, but there is a yellow triangle in the connection icon in tray. If I put the cursor over it, I can read: "Network No internet access"

I agree it is better then the oposite, but still...
I want to take this one step further, there is no internet access in my case.. and EVERYTHING is okay. The cable is fine, I even tried a wireless usb card to connect wirelessly but still no avail. The disappointing thing is that the net used to work just fine. And now, I am typing this reply from Ubuntu cause hey, no net.. What gives..? I can access the local area network just fine. I can't even update my antivirus to check for spyware cause I thought that was the cause. This is giving me a headache.

I have the same problem. However, if I dual boot to Vista.. it is ok. Only Win7 RC has the yellow triangle.
I can connect from home with Live Mesh Remote Desktop to the office Vista Home Premium which is behind an http proxy server... but because of the yellow triangle I cannot connect to the same system when it is booted into win7 RC.

    Same here.. it's very annoying.

When I copy files from my PC to my HTPC I will get the no internet access error every single time. The file continues to copy but both of my Win7 pc's cannot access the internet. My laptop that is running Vista however can. I usually have to reboot my router to fix this.

Had the same problem. This happened when i put the machine in sleep mode. When the pc started up the internet wasn working. The only thing that helpped was shuting down the computer, pulling the power cord out of the PSU, pressing the power button a few times. Than i plugged the power back and started up the PC. Internet was working fine.

I am using onboad NIC on ASUS Striker II formula.

Had the same problem with my wireless connection. It turned out to be my Checkpoint firewall.

    yellow triangle

"No internet connection and a yellow triangle in the icon with Win7RC"
What 's the reason ... me and many friends are looking for a solution.!!!!!!

In the meantime I made a quick connection ( C:/windows/windows32/devmgmt ) on my desktop to switch off and after a few seconds to switch on again my networkconnection with the result it's working.

One of the things you can try is : switch off the service beginning with ##
    How ? Start/Run/msconfig/tab-services/hide all MS-services bij tacking and untack ##Id_String ......

Waiting for a real (!) solution I remain
