Network connection dropping while downloading with utorrent?

    Try limiting the number of connections, some routers can't handle the traffic and reset themselves to try and compensate. Connect the computer directly to the Modem without the router and if it works OK that will tell you it is the Router.

    but I don't have a router..I only have this thompson modem which is connected through usb...so any ideas what I could do?

    Try limiting the connections in Utorrent and see if that fixes the problem.

    still any suggestions anyone? maybe someone that had somehow fixed this problem if you had it too?

    have you try uncheck "Enable uPNP port mapping" in uTorrent (under Preferences-Bandwidth).
