I want the firewall to ask me about every program
Hello forum,
after I installed RC 7100 the firewall used to ask me if I'd like to allow a outbound connection for every program that would try to connect. Unfortunately it doesn't do that anymore. In the Windows Firewall Properties I can only chose Allow or Block Outbound for the different profiles. If I set it to block, it will silently block all outbound connection attempts. I want to have it blocked by default, but I don't want to have to create rules manually for each program, I'd like the original behavior, that is, have it ask me on connection attempt. Where can I set that? Thx in advance! |

I think it'll stop asking if you turn off UAC, did you turn off UAC?

My firewall settings have rules for individual programs for inbound rules.
What are the settings for your firewall profile? Under Windows Firewall Properties check the the tab for "private profile" are the inbound settings set as Block(default) or Allow? I believe the former will get you the prompts and the latter won't. |

What free firewall program do you all recommend? As the topic states, what free firewall program do you reccomend? Other than the one built into windows 7. Really all I need it to do is have it make a popup when a program tries to access the net in anyway and allow me to block or allow it, kinda like zone alarm does. Someone told me zone alarm... |

Program Slow after Firewall Blocking. Alright, so I reinstalled Kaspersky since I feel safer with it. But here's the issue. On certain things I don't trust yet, I block their internet access so they don't update. I like to manually update my programs. So here's the issue. I posted a topic a while back about buying a Xilisoft... |

Good firewall program? So I have been using Comodo Internet Security, but I think it has been causing some problems with the OS. It made everything run slow. either it was the firewall, or nvidia drivers... I reinstalled Windows 7 Pro x64 (formatted hd and did clean install), and everything is snappy and fast like it was... |
