Loss of Internet Connectivty after connecting to VPN
I was trying to connect to my university's VPN for remote access to my files there.
Back on XP on my Acer Aspire 5612 WLMi, I would've installed
http://www.undergrad.engineering.uto...F/ecfpcnet.zip
and then Mapped a Network Drive and I would be able to connect to H:\ on the server and retain internet connection.
On Windows 7 on my AMD Phenom X3 Desktop, the installer fails. Instead I go to Network and sharing Center and set up the VPN that way, inputting the IP and such.
The VPN connects and I am able to map my network drive and access the files on the network drive; however, while I am connected to the VPN I lose access to the internet through my LAN connection (Network & Sharing center indicates my computer is not connected to the internet. Firefox, Opera, IE can't reach google, yahoo, etc).
When I disconnect from the VPN, I get internet connection back instantly (Network & Sharing Center indicates my computer is connected to the internet and the FFox, Opera, IE all regain their ability to connect to websites).
I know this may not be very clear wording, let me know if you need more details.
