laptop cannot detect wireless networks
a few days ago my laptop had no internet access even though it was connected to my home wireless network. I tried messing around with it and disabled the connection. suddenly, all the wireless networks in the list disappeared, even after enabling again.
Other than disabling the connection in network and sharing center I did not do anything else. the physical switch of the wireless adaptor is on.
under "manage wireless networks" I tried adding connections but it still does not show in the system tray.
I googled and found someone saying to start a service called WLAN autoconfig, but it is already started.
turning the modem and router on/off does not help either.
I know the router is not the problem because other devices at home can still access wireless. also usually I can see my neighbours' wireless but now the network list is completely empty.
I'm using an Asus laptop with windows 7, my wireless adaptor is called Atheros AR9285 wireless network adaptor. i've attached some screenshots.
