Hi everyone,

One of our work machines has decided it doesn't want to use RDP. I was just going to do system restore but there are no restore points (guess I'll have to check that too).
Anyway I have tried updating RDP from the microsoft site but I get the message that the KB has already been installed. Am I able to just download the mstsc.exe file from microsoft?
Also I have tried copying my mstsc.exe file to the machine and it hasn't worked.
From the machine you can RDP out just fine. Another point to mention is that remoting to the machine with the firewall up or down is no good but I can make a connection view Teamviewer.

Any idea's?

Hi Sean,

Verify that the computer in question has the latest Windows Updates. I'd suggest to run a System File Checker.

Thanks 2xg. I think I may have done this but I'll try it again as I'm drawing a mental blank.

Thanks 2xg that did the trick. Running sfc /scannow found and fixed a number of items, RPD being one of them. I can now successfully RDP to the PC.

Thank you.
