Limiting homegroup sharing to certain devices

Hi guys, I'm trying to create a LAN sharing solution. What I want to achieve is when a download is finished on my laptop that file is moved to a folder called "complete" which is shared with my desktop PC.

I've read into homegroup sharing and it seems like a good option, but there is one problem; I don't want the "complete" folder accessible to everyone on the network, just my desktop. Is there any way to achieve this? If not, is there a recommended third party software that would do the same thing? Thanks in advance!

Tried removing "Everyone" from "complete" folder security tab (properties), and connect to the share with an account on the laptop? Others that don't know the account credentials wouldn't be able to connect that way.

Apologies, had a try doing that and couldn't quite make it work . Not 100% sure what you mean. If you (or anyone else) has the time would you be able to post a slightly more in-depth guide on how to do it?

Sorry I am not at home to reply with much more detail. See Permissions - Allow or Deny Users and Groups

Check permissions for the folder you shared. Post a screenshot of security tab if you get confused.
