Windows 7 Ultimate - Internet/LAN takes 30 seconds to be found.

    Hello Seven Forums.

I'm having an issue where, once I startup my system and enter the desktop, my Internet/LAN icon will not be showing as having found an internet connection, nor will I have internet, for the first 20-30 seconds. Steam will not be able to log-in automatically, as there is no connection found for the mentioned time.

I'm wonder what could cause such issue? I've tried to update my Network Card drivers, resetting it to default and letting Windows install the default one. It shows as being "Network 8", which leads me to think it could be an issue with the system trying to detect previous networks/network drivers, however I'm unable to change that?

If you have any idea, let me know! Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. As a quick fix set a static IP see if that solves it the dhcp server may be slow responding

I'll give it a shot, however wouldn't that make it an issue for all pcs on the network? My laptop never experiences the problem, which makes me think it could be a specific problem for my desktop.

Would setting my DNS to Google's cause the issue I'm seeing?

It could be it's not negotiate the speed for the network card settings static is a test to see what the problem is. DNS has no effect as it's not used, turning off ipv6 can often help as it's not used
