homegroup problems...

I installed LAN driver but no changes at all

I do not have with me the win7 DVD. so I cannot do a repair now.

When I installed the DVD, I tweaked the services in order to have quicker performance. This PC is just a media center and I wanted to have it light.
I wonder now if I disabled a service that might be causing this problem. I have enabled all ip v6 services but nothing seems to change

I can pretty much guarantee you that following Black Vipers guide will have many of the required services not enabled. I suggest you go back through his guide and enable everything that you disabled. That guide is highly over rated for increasing performance.

The router is a netgear wgr614 v7. I cannot find information of wether the router supports ipv6 or not

All the required services listed in the last solution of your homegroup problems list were already enabled in my PC. I tried the other steps in the list but still no luck.

Could it be that other services that I disabled might also be required?

It could easily be that as well, I have no idea what you might have disabled but it's best not to touch those settings as the so called performance gains from disabling them is greatly exaggerated.

Yes, I will probably have to go through the ressources again, or doing a repair as suggested by severedsolo, which will default the ressources. Or a fresh install, which is always a good feeling once everything is reinstalled

Tweaking the ressources does not probably improve the efficiency that much. However, it can make a difference in other aspects depending on the application. I have a PC connected to a good HIFI, and when it comes to audio the less services trying to access to the CPU clock the better. For example, the USB DAC has to synch with the CPU clock and unwanted access to the CPU clock could cause synch problems.

Another thing:
As far as I can see, there are 2 different places to share content in the homegroups:
-going to homegroup settings and choosing what content type to share: documents, music...
- Right click in folder and select share with homegroup users.

Should both be enabled? Can you share content by right clicking the folder without going to homegroup settings at all?
I am saying that because as I mentioned in previous posts, I cannot save the homegroup settings but I can share directly at the folder, and I wonder if this will have an effect in the problem
