Microsoft's Windows 7 hits 600 million licenses sold
Posted: 06 Jun 2012
Windows 7's sales appear to be accelerating. In April 2011, Microsoft announced that it had sold 350 million Windows 7 licenses in the operating system's first 18 months of availability. In a little over a year, it has nearly doubled that figure, and according to Ballmer, will match it in just 12 months.
thats cause windows 7 is XP but just updated... and to date i think windows 7 is the best OS Microsoft has released.. windows 8 is going to be another vista...
Vista was only crappy at launch, as hardware was outdated, and 3rd party drivers weren't ready. Once SP1 came out, hardware was updated, mfg's were up to speed on drivers and Vista was pretty good. I don't see things improving after release of Windows 8. Unless we all get touchscreen displays by the time that SP1 comes out.
People need to stop comparing Windows 8 to Vista. Atleast people could navigate Vista because it was similar to XP. Windows 8 is completely different and will be confusing for a lot of people. The snap feature in windows 8 is very bad compared to the way it was on Windows 7. Windows 8 should've been an improved Windows 7, not a redesign with 2 interfaces. Windows 8 will make your pc look like a tablet. You can't even put a wallpaper on Metro. I like Windows Vista, but not Windows 8.
P.S. Windows 7 is really good. I'm not surprised that 600 million licenses were sold. It is a very good operating system.

My thoughts exactly.
Vista is a good OS, it's just a bit heavy on hardware minimum.
