    Update : System restore

I went straight to the oldest restore point, Sept.19th.
The application data selection is now available, BUT..... still unable to create a new user account, standard or admin.

edit : I meant new account failed the login, same as the beginning.

Damned if I could get this resolved !!!

These are the only issues resolved .....
    c:\users\default\AppData\Local\Application Data

    C:\Users\default\Local Settings\Application Data

It looks like you're going to need to do a clean install mate.

Will system repair disk suffice ?
I made one when I bought the computer.
That is what I am contemplating to do.

Sorry, but system repair disc will not install Windows 7. You'll need a Windows 7 installation CD/DVD/ISO/USB instead.

What did you use to install Windows 7 with originally?

If it was preinstalled on your Acer, then you could do a factory recovery.

    Mine is an OEM.
But, I had obtained an Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit ISO, and I used Imgburn to make myself a bootable Home Premium 64-bit SP1 DVD.
I also have a non-SP1 bootable DVD created the same way.
Should I use the non-SP dvd ? Trouble could have started AFTER I installed SP1.
    OR,
Should I use the recovery partition instead ?

I'd use the ISO that already includes the SP1 so you wouldn't have to worry about installing SP1 later.

    I forgot.......
I have also made a set of Factory Default disks ( 4 in total ) from the beginning.
I assume they are my recovery disks.

So, I do have a few options, yes ?

If the factory recovery discs will install Windows 7, then yes.

It's just a matter of which one you prefer to use now. :)

Final update ( unless someone has an idea )

I used The link Brink gave, and did a restore to Factory settings.
I can now create user accounts.
BUT, now I lost the AppData section under C:\users\(username)\Appdata

    Life sucks !!!
