Windows Freezes and Haults or Dies

    Hello,

I purchased Sony Vaio Computer in 2007 with windows XP.

Consequently I have upgraded it to Windows 7. Apart from system shutting down irregularly due to power failures in home, every window I open freezes e.g like Google chrome, Microsoft outlook, Facebook or My Computer if i'm searching something. It also doesn't run Internet Games with flash.

    How to Fix this.

You should invest in a good ups system if you have power problems.

They can cause all kinds of bad things to happen to any type of hard drive or ssd.
This could be the result of your problems.
If the PC is saving something or doing something, a irregular shut down power loss will cause problems.

Your laptop has a backup battery and thus would not be affected.

I need to know should I re-install windows, after setting up power provider, will antivirus programs do the trick. My Comp windows completely freezes and its very slow. mouse pointer turns into circle for long hours.Would Clean Boot or defragmentation help this problem.

Its always nice to start with a fresh clean install if you can.( Especially if you haven't for awhile.) Its always a good thing to start any "diagnostics" after a few scans with Antivirus and Antimalware software. If you reinstall you can be virtually assured any virus you may or may not have will be gone. Plus the nice new crispness of a fresh installation! :)

We have many excellent tutorials here at the Forums, written by some capable people, heres a few on doing that if you haven't before. Just click on the links.
