then why post here in the first place if you wont even try the suggestions ?
you might aswell switch to ur old XP. and enjoy. and we will enjoy our NEW WORKING FASTER THAN XP WITH TONS OF FEATURES THAT XP DOESNT HAVE, WINDOWS 7 =)
but as the other guys said. A UPGRADE INSTALL IS NOT RECOMMENDED BECAUSE OF THE CORRUPTIONS/MALFUNCTION AS A RESULT ( which is what happend in ur case ).
SO SIMPLY REINSTALL , DO A CLEAN INSTALL AND BE HAPPY.
and besides you dont want to waste the money you spent for the disk right? (well if u bought it that is )
Good luck!
Clean Install Windows 7
Well this f'ing figures. Ok so I hit F2 to change the boot order in bios and saved it. It REFUSES TO LOAD THE DVD. Man I need some help because I have no idea what to do next. How do I boot from the DVD? I restarted the computer, pounded F2, changed the order off booting to CD/DVD 1st and well all I get is an error and then it just starts windows.
Why me?
Run setup.exe from the DVD directly off your current installation and when it ask you what installation you want, pick Custom and select the main partition (C: ). It should move the old installation to "Windows.old" for later removal by you.
When you boot up to Windows, you want to go to My Computer, and double click on the DVD drive that contains the Windows 7 DVD. If it does not autoplay it will open and there should be "setup.exe" right at the root of the DVD. Otherwise it will start the installation and walk you though. When giving a choice between "Upgrade" and "Custom" you are going to pick custom.
It will then come to a selection of hard drives (partitions) on where you want to install to. If there is only one, that is the one you pick.
Ok that's what I'll do. If I am not back within 24 hours you know I did not make it and please remember me.
