For anyone that is so interested in shaving time from their boot, a good thing is to make sure you have a static ip set. I think it may take longer, if only slightly, to pull an ip address as opposed to starting up with one already set.

My reboot time ranges from this to about 70 seconds - stock standard install of Windows 7 RC1 32 bit version

My newer laptop shows 70 seconds:

    Intel Celeron 585 2.16GHz, 2GB DDR2, W7 RC 7100.

This includes the time it takes to choose Vista loader from the Ubuntu GRUB loader screen and the time to type in the password to log into W7 itself.

Wow, when did Intel boost the power of those Celerons?

Slow because of bios detecting crap. Also, it seems to give the time when programs are still loading.

Here is my boot time with tons of junk loading. This app only gives your time when the OS is fully loaded
This is using a OCZ 120gig Vertex solid state hard drive. Was like 8 seconds on a clean install.

You reckon that's slow, my computers hangs for about 30 seconds in the Bios detecting crap, It's the thing I hate most about my Evga 750i, unlike my Asus P5K board which takes about 10 seconds at most.

    Haha

If anyone wants to try the boot time utility, grab it here:
BootTimer.zip - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage
Works just like the reboot timer.
Maybe make a new thread with results.

    Clean, tested at https://www.virustotal.com/
