Solved Windows 7 wakes up immediately after sleep

I just reinstalled my OS and set the sleep mode to S3 from S1 in the BIOS

Now whenever I put my PC to sleep, it wakes up immediately (never even really goes to sleep) and takes me to the Windows 7 login screen.

I disabled the network adapters, mice and key board from allowing the computer to wake up

How can I fix this?

Well I have tried disconnecting all the ethernet cable, keyboard and mice from my pc and it all gave me the same results so I know it is not those 3

I also used event viewer to see if there are any programs making my computer wake up but nothing

I already disabled everything in step 4

Okay i was able to fix the problem by
Power options > change plans > change advanced power settings > sleep > allow hybrid sleep (turned this off)

However I may have encountered another problem. After disabling allow hybrid sleep, there is now a "hibernate" option under the shutdown menu. When pressing the hibernate option, it now does what the sleep mode was doing initially which was take me immediately to the login screen.

Is hibernate mode supposed to turn your computer back on immediately? Because I don't remember it doing that on my XP machine in the past.

Nevermind I just turned off hibernation mode

What MB you on?

I cant turn my machine off, but I can sleep and hibernate, but when I select off(shutdown/ie fully off) it just turns off then powers back up and does a cold boot......

Thank you, my computer had been sleeping fine, then suddenly this started happening. Changing Hybrid Sleep to off fixed it. Sorry to bump an ancient thread but this is apparently still relevant. I don't know why it was working then suddenly stopped. I do have an an SSD and it's a desktop but I do want my computer to sleep to save power when I'm gone.

In my case the reason for immediate wake up is new keyboard. Cheap one. Anko. JLR-73713. I disabled "wake up" option in device manager and now desktop can have good sleep.


The driver actually very old, 21 June 2006, 6.1.7601.17514
I tried to update it by clicking "update driver", nothing better was found.
