The screen never went black on me.
This just happens when i turn off the computer and try to boot up again.
My MOBO uses a slightly modified version of the American Megatrends AMIBIOS. When I looked in BIOS central it says that 1 long and two short beeps mean: An error was encountered in the video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered.

But when i looked in the AMIBIOS8 Checkpoint and Beep Code List PUB.pdf
i found no such code listed.

That may be slightly warm but still within the normal temp range. It also depends on what you were doing when the screen went black on you like running a game or something else that would place a good load on the card which then heated up further.

The cpu temp was great and not any worry there on that. Now you have to find out which bios is used on that make and model board however in order to look up the actual definition for the 1 long 2 short while I suspect the card itself may be the card on the way without actually seeing temps high enough to overheat since most of this is being seen at startup.

For 1 long 3 short if that is what you should be hearing that would be "
Reseat the memory, or replace with known good modules.
" according to the AMI Ameritrends pdf guide seen at http://www.ami.com/support/doc/AMIBI...e_List_PUB.pdf

There are only three codes listed way at the bottom of that one in section #8.2.1 which amounts to page #15. AMI typically doesn't see as many as seen with other bios versions. At least you won't have to worry about cooking anything and you already reseated the memory when moving dimms around.
