    iTunes taskbar player controls missing

    Hi, something strange is happening with my iTunes taskbar icon.

    Sometimes when i mouse over it will show me player control icons (prev, play, next) but a lot of the time it won't. It seems to be completely at random, irrespective of what's or what song is selected in iTunes.

    Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

    Cheers :)

    Have you downloaded "iTunes helper" or something similar?

    Download this;

    Malwarebytes

    and run a FULL scan. If it finds anything, post the log here.

    There's an ituneshelper.exe file in my itunes folder and a whole bunch of .dll files but i didn't download it seperately.

    I assume as it's an apple program it's just a normal part of itunes?

    I've run the scan and it found one infection for something seemingly unrelated. here's the log:

    Hi and welcome to the forum,
    Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes may solve the problem.
    1. Uninstall iTunes
    2. Reboot the system
    3. Install the latest version

    Just backing up my computer at the moment so i can't but i'll give it a go when that's done and let you know.

    It's done it with older versions of itunes as well too though so i'm not sure if it will work. Always worth a try though

    Cheers
