    The uninstall

Yes mike I've got rid of all the Adobe stuff except Reader which as you know one cannot get by without.

Yep have done thorough scans with my ISS and MBAM used CCleaner / progs - feats to clean out any remnants so nothing left behind.

Trouble is am left with no ruddy Flash am just going to have to try IE 8 32b and download the ordinary Flash from .com as I don't want that trojan stuff again, but if youtube prompts me for an Adobe update I think I'll go potty. I don't download anymore from third parties either because of the mess I have got myslef into before I got wised up being on these forums. Here Whirlpool (Aussie), and Kaspersky.

Now for something that does not include a whinge - a bit OT but yeh it's a great place to live mate - I came here in '78 from the UK and am ore Aussie than English - in years that is and look I wouldn't go back for all the tea in China.
I've done a couple of trips back there and hey it's so overcrowded now and the roads so congested - no not for me I'm afraid.

But I would like to go to the US one day - a friend ahs just come back and she adored it - just like my ex sister in law did - she's a business woman. But I want to see the normal America not interested in NY LA or that sort of stuff just ordinary folk / Grand Canyon / Yellowstone - you know.
Anyway better get off before I'm thrown off lol!

LOL, ICit2lol, I doubt you'll get thrown off for expounding on the aside I initially presented.
This is a great community here in the Seven Forums.

Funny how we see other countries and have certain visions of them as some sort of utopia - or just a great place to live. I really would like to get to Oz one day - I think I'd fit in quite well. I'd just have to be somewhere near the coast (lot's of coastline there, a good thing). One thing I love about these forums is the cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Have you tried uninstalling the IE 9 browser?

How to Uninstall Internet Explorer 9

Sorry if the link is a bit pedestrian for you, given the apparent knowledge you have.

One more thing, have you tried FF 4.0? I use 4.0b8pre x64 as my daily browser. No issues. Fantastic performance and it's getting better every day.

    IE9

No mike I haven't even got it on yet as the local forum I belong to don't seem to have much of any sort of opinion re it anyway. There seems to be a fair bit of negative criticism as it is, but I think you'll find that we are generally speaking a way behind the US when it comes to anything involving technology, health, etc.
I know this was particularly obvious when I came out here (am a health professional by career) and was just gobsmacked by the "Neanderthal" health system that was in place compared to what I was used to in the UK.

For example the Kaspersky Pure R2 and 2011 ISS were out over there and in the UK before it even touched out here, and I think this is due to a lot of bureacratic meddling as always. In fact I thought that the bureacracy in the UK was bad when I lived there - but here it has to be seen to be believed. So if you ever watch (out of pure boredom) those airport / border security programs and if you have seen the Aussie and NZ ones out here - if you do come over for a visit - make sure you declare your jocks and shoe laces mate as they will check lol!!

IE9 x64 and FF x64 builds are the only ones that can use the 64 bit flash player. If you are not using either, why did you install the 64 bit flash player?

It seems a total uninstall and then a re-install of the 32 bit version (the 64 bit and 32 bit flash versions run side-by-side with no issues) should fix your problem...unless, of course, not surprisingly so, for me, I'm unaware of the real issue and I'm just chasing rabbits, which I hear can be quite numerous over there in Oz .

Thank you for the insight and your candor, ICit2lol, quite enjoyable. :)

    The Flash

Hiyya mike Hmmmm think I might have been a little ambiguous.
I was using the 64bit IE 8 as my OS is 64bit, and being not that savvy at the time I bought the machine - assuming that 64bit Flash went with it dived in and used it - I was also at that time given to impetuousity I'm afraid.
I have to be honest I have in the past dropped some real clangers re downloading stuff both free and paid and I find it safer to ask before using anything.

Plus I don't know why - again out here things are so behind and different but it seems that I am better off using IE 8 32bit.

I am told that there is quite a lot to be done re 64bit apps out here too for a while and to use the 32bit IE and as yet have not heard from a tech friend yet when to go ahead with the Flash in 32bit - I owe him quite bit for getting my probs sorted out in the past.

Sorry for the confusion but I again am given to rambling a bit too!

Oh and not that many rabbit at the moment we are waiting for the locusts which are predicted to be the worst for many years. Known as grasshoppers here - don't ask why it still baffles me after 30 odd years out here - they make such a mess of the car and if not kept out of the cooling system smell like nothing else!!

Yup, I've been using this 64-bit one since it came out.
It was running smoothly and without any incident.
