Please download http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 MGADiag and save it to your desktop.

Double click on MGADiag.exe to run it.
    Click Continue.
The program will run. It takes a while to finish the diagnosis, please be patient.
    Once done, click on Copy.
Open Notepad and paste the contents in the window.
Save this file and copy/paste it in your next reply.

I just want to make sure the new MBoard that was re-placed in your Dell computer, was acknowledged and your current OS was genuinely activatived by Microsoft.

Who knows?! The tech was in & of my apartment in less that 20 minutes. He was very unprofessional & showed up without making an appointment. Plus, he did a very sloppy job of reassembly. My laptop rattles now, the bottom is uneven and I'm having sporadic problems with the CD drive. It's a mess! But I suppose that's what I get for being a photographer that uses a PC!

I finally gave up getting rid of the rootkit. Every tool I ran screwed up my settings more & more so I just finished a clean install. What a fun way to spend Saturday night restoring my programs & files!

Thanks for trying to help me! :)

I'd call Dell tech support and speak to the supervisor . Request a new tech to come out with a new set of screws for the laptop .

I'm not sure, but it looks like the "Geek Squad" from Best Buy might have done the 20 minute job.
