I haven't tried any suggestions yet. This laptop is NEW and I don't want to void the warranty. Cant reach Dell. We have no more laptops. Any download will have to come from this one. I don't want to mess with the bios, at least yet. I am sorry I didn't respond as fast as some may like but I am VERY sick and bed bound. It is genetic and involves the Neuro-Endocrine system. Also I keep the Sabbath and don't get on here on Saturday. If Someone could list some things to start checking I am more than willing. But keep in mind this is but 2 weeks old, start date was 5/17, got online on the 20th. Also my tablet turned itself on in the middle of the night yesterday. I take the battery out and unplug the laptop.

Tried to run gmer again and got a blue screen. When looking at event viewer the MMC keeps quitting. Found a Hugh log called V0100394.log It is in Chinese? Is there any way to un-install the 4 modules that were uploaded regardless of having updates stopped.
I did try to run ESET. It had found 4 things plus a list of potentials listed at the bottom. Froze up at the end. Ran again and showed nothing. But under the quarantined was 4 items. None of the others. I will try to post some pictures.

If this is a new laptop I would return it to Dell for a replacement.
Put a good, paid security program on it and when you download anything upload it to https://www.virustotal.com/ and check before installing.

Thank you Brit, I am thinking the same. There are massive updates to this that happened in March, before I received it. I was looking at the WER files and several "Critical errors" even before reaching me. I did everything I know to secure this Laptop before going online. Didn't go online for 3 days. The first thing I did was a restore point naming it NEW. Second thing was to disable ALL wireless and BT in services and Drivers. This made no difference as it appears that the IR is the New way to download. There is so much IR activity in this house it is affecting things. TV, Router, etc.... I will let you know what Dell says. I need this monkey off my back. This has been going on since the phone line was installed in this newly built small house. Thanks

We resolved a long-running thread here recently which was traced to router by resetting the router.

I would do that in conjunction with wiping the HD fully to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is a much better install than the Dell factory preinstall anyway. Much of the steps are preparations. If you'd like I will walk you through the actual install until you can connect to the internet and install Teamviewer then will connect and set it up for you perfectly.

The Special Notes to Dell Owners at the end of the tutorial specify to test your bootable hardware Diagnostics to see if they run in which case the small OEM partition at front or end of drive can be saved while all others should be deleted during the reinstall. However in this case I think I'd wipe the whole drive with Diskpart Clean Command.

You will learn how to install and maintain a perfect Win7 installation with no problems if one sticks with the tools and methods given.
