This morning I was on my desktop, Acer Aspire M3450-ER20P and surfing on the Internet. And the message popped up to tell me to restart the computer after the updates of Windows 7 from Microsoft. So I did it and wait for the computer to finish configuring the updates but unfortunately after 32% of configuring my desktop got BSOD on the screen. I was surprised to see that happen with only 3 months old desktop. Anyway I have tried several things like " Repair my computer " or run in Safe Mode or run in Safe Mode with command prompt or safe mode with networking. None of these are working with this. Anyway here is the error I got from my computer below:

0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880074BC788, 0xFFFFF8800337EFB8, 0xFFFFF8800337E810)

RTSTOR64.SYS -- Address FFFFF880074BC788
base at FFFFF880074B4000, Datestamp 46f28594

I did try with Google to see if can get something with this but Google tell me too many characters.

I should have done in the first place to create a system image but I didn't. That's a hard lesson for me and now I learn to do this next time after the update just in case.

I don't have a DVD copy of Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Home Premium and is in Acer Recovery on my desktop but I have no way to get around to do this.

Do you have any suggestion with this to see if that will fix the problem. I have tried this all day and nothing look good for me. Or should I take my desktop to computer sales and service store to see if they can do something about this.

Thank you,

John

Unfortunately with my desktop that had a hard drive failure and replaced with a new hard drive under warranty. I only have my desktop for 3 months. It's Acer Aspire M3450-ER20P. Also will lose all the files that I have them in my desktop. That is my biggest mistake that I did not make a back up copy but after the computer fixed and will start having my hard drive back up to an external hard drive every week or two. My desktop should be ready on Tuesday of this week. I took them to Staples because that's where I bought from.

Mate if you have the old drive it might be worth hooking it up via a gadget or in the machine (make sure you boot from the new drive - set in BIOS) and see what you can extract with Recuva Recuva - Download

Or boot from a Ubuntu disk and see what you can recover form the old drive onto a stick or another drive as anything attached to the machine will show up.
You need to make a bootable Ubuntu disk > set the BIOS to boot form the optical > when the options come up choose TRY not INSTALL > when it is loaded you will have a purple coloured screen and the drive will be listed as in the pic > open them up and copy - paste what you want form that old drive to the new one or a stick. It sounds complicated but it really isn't. Try Ubuntu before you install it | Ubuntu

I already have the program of Linux Mint with Cinnamon 1.8 on my laptop. Thanks for posting yours. The (failure) hard drive that have to send back to the manufacturer, Acer after installed the new hard drive in my desktop. Because of the warranty and that's what I was told by a tech support at Staples?
