Hello,

I am trying to upgrade to Windows 7 (RC) from Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. I get all the way to "Transferring files, setting and programs. (66%)" and I get the following message:

The instruction at 0x76da3892 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Welcome Ariom to sevenforums..

It could have been caused by faulty memory.
Check the memory with memory diagnostic tool.

Hmmm...

Well, I thought not but I'll try and burn another copy slower and see where that gets me.

Thanks!

Well, I burned another disc and that just got me a similar error; The instruction at 0x77423892 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read.

Any other thoughts?

Could be the DVD drive itself. If you have a 4GB thumb drive, you can try booting from it.

Tried the thumb drive. Same thing....
