i don't actually see a blue screen, but i've been plagued by 7's inability to suspend/hibernate for many months now. i've trawled through this forum on many occasions but can't figure out a solution.

i am in the midst updating my display and touchpad drivers as i type this. any light shed will be greatly and gratefully appreciated!

among many other things i have done:

i have uninstalled intel RST when i upgraded to an SSD (single/only hdd, AHCI in BIOS) - i saw it lurking around and have disabled "Intel RAID Controller" in Device Mgr. no change to my situation...

my BIOS is up to date.
