Greetings!

I previously was running win7 64bit with 4 gig paired ram on my rig.Yesterday i dropped another 4gig paired into the slots and restarted my machine.

The full 8 gig is being picked up on startup, but it would throw 0xc0000034,0xc0000225
(alternating on start up) errors.

I have stripped the MOBO down and rebuilt the machine, same errors.

I had to use my vista 32 bit disk to format the hdd,as my win7 64-bit disk will throw the above error on restart.

After reformatting and removing the partitions,win7 (64-bit) will mostly boot the install sequence, and install win7.Win7 will restart the machine as normal during installation, and will boot to desktop.

You can use win7 per normal (install apps ect),but when i go to restart the machine to finish installation of apps, it will go back to the error screen and throw one of the above errors.

I have reformatted 14 times and fresh installed 14 times, and it still crashes on MY first reboot.

I am at my wits end,any ideas?

One obvious point would be whether your motherboard BIOS is the latest, and to check the RAM is compatible with types your motherboard builder states have been found compatible.

If these points are both borne in mind and you're sure there is no reason why you ought to get errors then check all your BIOS settings regards the RAM are optimal for the specification of the memory.

Failing success then it's probably time to run memory diagnostics.

Take out the second pair and see what happens. Try swapping with the first pair.
If both pairs work make sure your using the correct memory, updated bios and how much memory your motherboard supports.

Hi,i have taken out swapped ram,i cannot flash the bios as the disk that ive got the flash on is not recognized.

it just wont boot anything, unless its from a fresh format.then after the install,it crashes out and gives me those codes.

edit: my board (look at my specs) supports the corsair ram,the full 8 gig is found on the on boot self test.

hiya !

i have flashed the board with the newest bios, tried the mem in different channels, mem test is fine.

i previously had win7 64 running fine on my sweet little machine with 4 gig.
i have removed the newest paired ram and tried the install again...no luck.

Just reinstalled vista again....works fine.
installed win7 32 bit.. fails on first restart after install.
attempted win7 64 bit, failed on initial driver load..didnt even get to set up.

point of interest?

win7 64 is partitioning my 500gig hdd as follows :

Disk0 P1 100meg
Disk0 P2 465.7gig

is the win partition way too small?

A bit of one. Mostly questions. OK you said you had 64 bit installed before with 4gigs, running smoothly i assume, correct? Added 4 more gigs, same exact ram 2x2gb kit? error message.. reformatted, reinstalled 64 bit went well till reboot after finishing installing apps. Drop down to next to last post(#8) Now 32 bit Fails after restart,64 bit failed on initial driver load. Theses last 2 tries, done with all 8 gigs in?I would try to install with only 1 -2gig stick 64 bit /7 (is this a retail disc or a burned ISO? If so from where and at what speed?(thinking bad ISO post #6) I would also make sure all bios settings are set to default (except boot form cd) also minimum peripherals. also would wipe the harddrive and do a reformat. 100 meg partion? What's up with that? Thoughts (bad memory controller?) (latest chipset drivers?) That's about it out of ideas. Fabe

If you can get a Vista install to work, update to the latest chipset drivers and run memtest for a while at least 10 passes. It's not unheard of that memory will pass memtest with only a few passes but after running it for awhile errors might start to show up. I'm sure by now your extremely frustrated, I know I would be. Nothing seems to make any sence. I'm looking forward to other suggestions as I'm sure you are too. Good luck. Fabe

You said it runs fine with 4 gigs but crashes with the second pair.
This tells me its the second pair of ram that you installed is bad.

Put in 1 ram(no pair). load default settings in bios. format hard drive no partitions.
Install with only 1 ram, video card, motherboard. Nothing else.

If you have errors take some pictures and submit them here.

hiya fabe,thanks for the post.

i have tried to install with one stick at a time, each install with a different stick.I finally gave up after 3 days of banging my head against the wall.

The only other thing i could think of was that the mem timing was out.Tweaking RAM is out of my league,so i dropped it down to the local IT shop.I asked them to bench test my machine, and also asked them to use MY 64-bit disk on installation, just in case the retail cd i bought was corrupted.

Im hoping to hear from them today, because as soon as they seen my rig they moved the tower out the back and started to work on it.(sweeet rig)

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Ill post back here with the results,as soon as i get them.

The 100mb "slice" is normal for a win7 install. It is like a dell or HP recovery partition.

The tech told me that he had to UNLINK the timing, and reset the mhz of the ram to 1333,i never stuffed around with that in bios so its got me how it reset itself. As for the side bus,i do not know what he did.

Win7 64 is now working perfectly so im not complaining.
