Hello,

I have never experienced this issue and I'm hoping you all might be able to shine some light on the subject. I have a Win7 machine (Go Figure) and a few months back the drive was full up, so we cloned it and expanded the volume and set on our merry way. Well, just yesterday, after almost five months of zero issues, the larger 1.5ish TB volume we had was back to its original size of approximately 500GB. It is a very peculiar situation, but I sure would like that space back as well as the data that is on it. I am NOT able to see any of that disk space via DISKPART or Disk Manager.

Thank you for your insight

Did you use Disk Management to extend the volume from the get go, or some software?

I have heard by a computer Tech many years ago say that partitions can go poof, gone. So that may have been what happened, and it's why I don't dabble with individual partitions.

I've used this software in the past with success, and it may help you. Free Partition Recovery Software - EaseUS Partition Recovery.

In my case. I accidentally deleted my primary OS partition. So I used that software on another computer with the HDD connected via USB and it worked.

Welcome to the Forum.

- Open Disk Management (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc), expand the window, expand the columns so we can read them.
- With the Snipping Tool (%windir%\system32\SnippingTool.exe) take a snap shot of whole window and save the image to your disk.
- Attach the image to your answer post. Use the paper clip on the answer window - browse to the image file - upload
