1 corrupted, dll, SFC errors.

aSUS m2N-Sli (NOT Deluxe) 4gb ram. AM2 proc. athlon 64x2 2.6ghz , +Geforce 8400.
windows. 7 64bit home, all updates,current.

slow boots.
smart shows hitiach 500mb drive , unrecorrectd. sectors, x10 (IN TRASH)
buy new Seagate, 1tb . with new sata-III CARD, for AHCI mode. works. (tried both modes)

clonezilla it , no prob cept. (ignoring error (switch) like smart warned, )
boots ok, but slow boots, but once booted runs fast and perfect, in all ways.
SLOW = 4 MIN, NOT HOURS, NO VIRUS, aVG AND MALWAREBYTES PRO .on guard. and winpatrol pro.

next:
ran SFC /scannow
shows corruption.
look in CBS. see below many times.

i tried the boot orig. cd install and click repair but it says i have too many updates...

Why can't SFc solve this.?
is there a newer SFC?

please help. retired tech, at work we;d reload windows,but its only one dll.

in the old days we called this DLL H3LL, and force fed it till happy. From masters.

can post full , cbs.log, have server space. web. zipped.


crystal disk mark seagate 1tb runs cool. temps.@35C. fan directed to all my drives.

183,mB/s and 107 for r/w seq. (writes seem a tad low)

sorry if red herring, im no expert on CBS.txt. (but learning fast)
seems Failed is normal and cannot's are not normal .

did all that. but now made a zip file, small to see all that.
doing updates never shows red fails like in above, only they show up in log. (my guess, is white noise)
no SUR errors
SFC /scannow fails in gui, and at boot cd + repair+command line, shows, corruption, (per posted dlls)

7zip using NORMAL compression.

ps boot time is now 1m33secs.
wife had skype loading.
so my only issue is the stuck DLL, running, sfc

Step 4 in the posting instructions:

The steps that we have done have limited automated fixing capabilities, however they are excellent diagnostic tools and generate very informative logs.
Navigate to the following folder:
C:\Windows\Logs

Right-click and on the CBS folder and select Copy.
Minimise all open windows and right-click on your Desktop, then select Paste.
Right-click on the CBS folder on your Desktop and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
A file, CBS.zip should appear on your Desktop.

Step 5 says - post the zip file created in step 4

Members versed in these things might need history on the issue, so the entire folder needs to be posted.

Please follow the instructions and I'll ask for someone to look at it after you post all the information.

this up loader don't like elephants. 16mB
7zipped. get 500 error 2 times, on cbs.zip (ntfs permissions. ill check that)set to everyone, full control now.
the zip limit is 8mB. so all this is not possible unless i drop cabs.all 5 are huge.

Not a big problem - but it can lead to other problems.

I'll post a fix protocol in a few minutes...

I've uploaded a file - mpbaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\mpbaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\mpbaa
or
DIR E:\mpbaa



The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...



XCOPY <drive>:\mpbaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h



(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )



run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

i even made a ISO USB stick boot, and boots to repair in 1min not 10min (DVD)

i guess that file was pulled from a CAB file?

In this case it was taken from a Windows ISO (it's on the SP1 disk)

Do you know if MS, ever made a slip-streamed, ISO for windows 7, that supports, USB3?

USB3 is not part of either RTM or SP1 Windows 7 - and never will be.
You can try creating a slipstreamed version with the drivers present - but you'd need to have the proper drivers for every possible variant of the ID.
Better to install the specific drivers post-install.
