Hi,

My win7 ult. has been acting weird for awhile now and I'm just going to do a reformat & install.

While preparing to install win7, when you get to the screen which deletes/formats the previous OS's
Does it REALLY format the drive ? seems too quick, so I have used xp to format then kill it right before the install of xp and put in win7 to install 7.

Does the win7 install really do a good reformat ?
thanks

It does a good quick format, which should be all you need.

A "full format" is much more time consuming.

If you want, you can go into Diskpart from the installation disc and use the "clean" command to wipe the disc, and then format it right there. Or exit diskpart and go back into the installation and let Windows format the disc.
