Hi,

i'm using windows 7 home premium in my laptop.it worked fine till last week.
unknowingly i installed some adware(toolbar) in my pc.

Later i removed the adware by scanning Spybot in safemode & even scanned with malwarebytes.

Perfomed a boot time scan with avast free edition anti virus.

now i'm able to login to the desktop but the cpu usage is always in 80 - 100 % even when system is idle.

removed some unwanted entried from start up and checked in proccesses tab in task manager. svchost and explorer were using max cpu. there are lot of svchost.exes running. dont know which service to disable.

Attaching hijackthis log file and lookmypc log file.please help me out of this problem

Thanks in Advance

I will share what I know.

"[T]here are lot of svchost.exes running" is normal and from the report, the source of the svchost.exe in each instance seems legitimate.

There are five programs, two or three of which are security-flawed, outdated.

Firefox is now at 15.0.1. Isn't that the purpose of the Maintenance Service?

VLC is now at 2.0.3. (Cosmetic and functional changes)

Java, even with the auto updater(!), should be at 7-7.

Adobe Reader is at version X?

Adobe Flash didn't list the version, but I suspect, with the numerous recent changes, that also is not at 11.4.4.

As to why your "svchost and explorer were using max cpu", were previously installed 3rd-party security software cleared and cleaned out before installing Avast? Remnants in the wrong place, while not seen as threats, could wreak havoc.
